Padel bags: racket bags and backpacks compared

Decathlon describes padel bags as the larger option for multiple padel rackets and plenty of gear, with typical volumes of 35 to 54 litres. Its guide puts backpacks at around 30 litres for match essentials, with a dedicated racket pocket. Covers are for just a racket and a small accessory, such as a phone or overgrip.

On 15 October 2026, the Tennis-Point and Sweatband catalogue contained 127 in-stock bags and covers. The categories below come from shop names or categories, not a separate inspection of each bag. Sports bags appear as a separate category, but that label alone does not confirm racket storage.

• Racket bags account for 93 listings.
• Backpacks account for 22 listings.
• Sports bags account for 7 listings.
• Covers account for 4 listings, with 1 further listing categorised as other.

Check how many rackets the individual shop listing says the bag holds. Decathlon identifies racket, shoe and laptop pockets as common compartment types, but this does not confirm them for every bag. If carrying padel shoes separately matters, look for an explicitly listed shoe compartment.

Decathlon says thermal pockets protect rackets from temperature changes, while padding around the racket pocket protects against transport impacts. Its guide also says padded shoulder straps help carry a large number of items. Check these features in the individual listing rather than treating “thermo bag” or “backpack” as a complete specification.

The catalogue’s brand counts on 15 October 2026 are listed below. HEAD and adidas are included, but their brand names alone do not establish capacity or compartment layout.

• Bullpadel has 42 listings; Wilson and NOX have 13 each.
• Babolat and HEAD have 12 each; Dunlop has 9.
• StarVie has 8; adidas has 5; Siux has 3; Vollint has 2.
