Padel ball pressurisers: do they work and which to buy
Padel ball pressurisers can help recover and maintain pressure, according to HEAD and Zona de Padel, but cannot stop the rubber wearing out. Choosing one means separating the maker’s pressure claims from the models and capacities actually listed by shops.

Why do opened balls lose bounce?
Decathlon says pressurised padel balls begin losing pressure as soon as the sealed tube is opened. HEAD explains that air passes through pores in the rubber, and names inactivity and cold as main causes of pressure loss.
Under FIP rules, a new ball must bounce 135–145 cm when dropped onto a hard surface from 2.54 m. That is a new-ball standard, not a guarantee for a restored ball. HEAD says repeated impacts weaken the rubber’s spring effect, so rebound can worsen even when pressure is maintained.
The padel balls overview covers ball choices. For the distinction between sports, see padel versus tennis balls: Decathlon says padel balls have lower internal pressure than tennis balls.
How do ball pressurisers work?
Zona de Padel describes a pressuriser as a container that creates a controlled pressure environment around the balls. HEAD says air returns gradually through the rubber’s pores. Zona de Padel’s instructions are to insert the balls, close the lid tightly and apply the pressure recommended for that system.
Zona de Padel reports a 29–30 PSI reference for recovering or maintaining performance; PSI means pounds per square inch. It lists HEAD models operating up to 34 PSI and reports Pascal Box’s claim of maintaining up to 48 PSI. These are system specifications, not instructions to use the highest setting.
HEAD claims its pressurisers can make balls last up to four times longer. That is a manufacturer’s claim, not an independent test result. HEAD also warns that excessive pressure can deform or break balls, and recommends pressurising them immediately after play.
Which pressurisers do UK shops list?
On 15 October 2026, Tennis-Point listed 7 in-stock pressurisers in the UK catalogue: 6 from Bounce and 1 from Bullpadel. The following list groups them by brand and product family, rather than ranking them.
- Bullpadel Pressurizer-Black.
- Bounce Tube Padel Pressurizer-Dark Blue and Bounce Tube Tennis Pressurizer-Dark Blue.
- Bounce Padel Filter Tech Pressurizer in dark blue and olive.
- Bounce Tennis Filter Tech Pressurizer in dark blue and olive.
Questions
Which pressuriser capacity should I buy?
Match capacity to the number of balls being stored, rather than the number of tins or boxes bought. Zona de Padel lists HEAD X3 Pump and Pascal Box SWITCH for 3 balls, and HEAD X4 Pump and Pascal Box 4B for 4 balls.
Does a pressuriser make old balls like new?
HEAD says balls recover pressure gradually through the rubber’s pores. It also says the rubber weakens with impacts, so recovering pressure does not remove that limitation on rebound.
How much pressure should I use?
Zona de Padel says to follow the manufacturer’s recommended pressure for the system. HEAD warns that excessive pressure can make balls egg-shaped, produce a poor bounce or break them.
