Open the racket finderWho is this list for?
This list is for players who play regularly and want to compare rackets beyond a beginner-only selection. The profile includes all playing styles and has no budget limit.
The shops’ level labels need care: Tennis-Point and Padel-Point use Beginners, Advanced and Tournament. Their Advanced label is a shop category, not a direct assessment of your standard.
Which specifications matter?
HEAD says beginners and intermediate players usually prefer 340–360 g, while heavier rackets add stability but are harder to handle. In the catalogue dated 15 October 2026, the 202 rackets with complete key specifications have a median weight of 365 g. The listed models therefore need checking individually rather than assuming every match falls within HEAD’s range.
Balance point is the distance from the handle end to the point where the racket balances. The catalogue’s middle third is 261–265 mm; HEAD associates medium balance with a blend of power and control. The weight and balance guide explains these measurements together.
- HEAD describes teardrop as a mix of power and control, and round as offering a larger central sweet spot, the hitting area giving maximum performance.
- HEAD describes carbon faces as stiffer and fibreglass as more flexible. For the core, EVA is a rubber-like foam; Stock Padel says it comes in soft, medium and hard densities.
How is the list computed?
The list uses the catalogue dated 15 October 2026 and the same score as the racket finder. Its fixed profile is level 1, meaning plays regularly, with all styles and no budget limit. The pool contains 193 rackets, all 193 fit, and the list shows the 10 highest-scoring matches.
Equal scores mean equal fit under that profile, not a demonstrated difference in court performance. Across the adult catalogue, 202 rackets have shape, weight and balance recorded; 257 lack at least one of these fields in every source and are excluded. The site compares published specifications, not play-test results.
What makeup do listed models have?
These examples follow their order in the list, using catalogue entries checked on 15 October 2026. Tennis-Point supplies the specifications and ratings below, except that Sweatband supplies the Air Origin’s shape.
- Babolat Air Origin: teardrop, 345 g, 265 mm balance, fibreglass face and EVA core. Tennis-Point rates the core medium and the level Advanced.
- Wilson Carbon Force: teardrop, 365 g, 265 mm balance, mixed carbon and fibreglass face and EVA Soft core. Tennis-Point rates the core soft and the level Advanced.
- HEAD Speed Team 2025: teardrop according to Padelstore24, 365 g, 265 mm balance, fibreglass face and Power Foam core. Tennis-Point rates the core hard and the level Advanced.
Questions
Is teardrop the only shape for intermediate players?
No. Playtomic recommends teardrop for intermediate players, but HEAD also recommends round for players at any level seeking extra control. Compare the shape descriptions on the teardrop rackets page.
Does an intermediate player need a carbon racket?
Not according to Playtomic’s guidance, which describes fibreglass as suitable for beginner and intermediate players. HEAD describes carbon as stiffer and fibreglass as more flexible.
Does a foam core always mean soft?
The name alone does not establish the shop’s hardness rating. Tennis-Point lists the HEAD Speed Team 2025 with Power Foam but rates its core hard; the EVA versus foam guide explains core materials.
