What does the NHS say?

This page describes racket specs only; it is not medical advice. The NHS describes tennis elbow as inflammation of the tendons in your elbow, the strong cords connecting muscle to bone.

The NHS says the main symptom is pain on the outside of the elbow, which may worsen when gripping objects or moving your wrist. It advises seeing a GP if elbow pain remains after at least 2 weeks of rest and self-care.

Which racket specifications matter?

Playtomic describes softer rackets as absorbing vibrations and reducing strain on the arm. Core hardness is a separate field from material: EVA is a rubber-like foam, and Stock Padel says it comes in soft, medium and hard densities. The EVA versus foam guide explains that distinction.

On 15 October 2026, the catalogue contained 202 adult rackets with shape, weight and balance recorded. Among these, Tennis-Point and Padel-Point rated 70 cores soft; 53 rackets weighed up to 355 g. These are specification groups, not medical suitability ratings.

Lighter weight: Playtomic calls lighter rackets easier to handle. The catalogue median is 365 g; the weight and balance guide also explains balance point, the distance from the handle end to where the racket balances.
Fibreglass or mixed faces: HEAD describes fibreglass as adding flexibility and softness. The catalogue records 52 fibreglass faces and 31 carbon-and-fibreglass mixtures; a mixed face is not itself a softness rating.
Larger sweet spot: HEAD says round rackets have a larger central sweet spot, the optimal hitting area, than teardrop or diamond shapes. The catalogue includes 57 round models.

How is this list computed?

The list uses the racket finder score with regular play, all playing styles, arm pain answered yes, light weight and no budget limit. It lists the 10 highest-scoring matches, rather than filtering exclusively for soft cores or round heads. These examples use Tennis-Point specifications, with Sweatband supplying the Air Origin shape.

Questions

Does a soft padel racket guarantee less elbow pain?

This page compares specifications, not medical outcomes. Playtomic describes softer materials as reducing vibration and impact stress; that is not a guarantee against elbow pain.

Does a fibreglass face mean a soft core?

Face material and core hardness are separate specifications. Tennis-Point lists the Babolat Air Origin with a fibreglass face but rates its EVA core medium.

What about padel elbow support or a padel elbow guard?

This page assesses racket specifications, not elbow supports or guards. The NHS advises seeing a GP if pain persists after at least 2 weeks of rest and self-care.
