What does a round shape do?

HEAD says round rackets have a larger sweet spot than teardrop or diamond rackets, positioned in the centre of the hitting surface. The sweet spot is the area HEAD describes as giving maximum performance. Playtomic says this larger central zone makes round rackets more forgiving on off-centre hits.

HEAD also associates round heads with low balance and extra control. The balance point is measured from the end of the handle; a lower value places it closer to the handle. Shape is not a substitute for that measurement, so check the listed value alongside the weight and balance guide.

On 15 October 2026, the catalogue contained 57 round adult rackets with complete shape, weight and balance fields.

Who suits a round racket?

HEAD recommends round rackets for beginners and for players at any level seeking extra control. Playtomic also recommends them for defensive players who prioritise precision and consistency. That makes round a control-led choice, not a beginner-only category.

HEAD describes teardrop padel rackets, with their tapering head shape, as a mix of power and control for a more balanced game. Its guide places the smaller sweet spot of diamond padel rackets nearer the tip and recommends that shape for more advanced attacking players. These are the publishers’ shape guidelines, rather than playing ratings for every individual model.

Which round models are listed?
