What does a diamond shape do?

HEAD defines the sweet spot as the hitting area that gives maximum performance. Its guide says diamond heads add power but have a smaller sweet spot near the tip. Playtomic likewise describes them as power-focused, with less control on off-centre hits.

HEAD says high balance is common in diamond rackets, not universal. The balance point is measured from the end of the handle; a higher point sits further towards the head. The weight and balance guide explains these measurements.

Who suits a diamond racket?

HEAD recommends diamond shapes for more advanced attacking players. Playtomic also links them to advanced play, saying the smaller sweet spot requires better technique. Those are guide recommendations rather than a level rating for every diamond model.

For beginners or players seeking extra control, HEAD recommends round padel rackets, with a larger sweet spot in the centre. Its guide describes teardrop padel rackets, named for their droplet-like outline, as a mix of power and control for a more balanced game. Playtomic places their sweet spot between those of round and diamond heads.

How do diamond models differ?

HEAD’s guide names round, teardrop and diamond shapes; the catalogue also records hybrid shop labels. These categories do not prescribe one balance or core rating. The Tennis-Point examples below are ordered by increasing weight, rather than the price order of the main list.

EVA is a rubber-like foam used in racket cores. Tennis-Point’s ratings show why shape and core hardness need reading separately: it labels both soft-core and hard-core models as diamond. Use the racket comparison to check the individual specifications rather than treating the shape name as a complete description.

Are all diamond padel rackets head-heavy?

Can a beginner use a diamond padel racket?
